Suspect named after man selling car fatally shot
A suspect has been named after a man was fatally shot at a West Park warehouse, where he had met with a prospective buyer for his Mercedes.
The Broward Sheriff's Office is searching for Nalio Williams, 35, of Hialeah, in connection with the Dec. 22 death of Raimundo Modia, 34.
Police said Modia went to a warehouse at 2107 SW 57th Terrace that day in the hope of selling his car. But investigators said the prospective buyer was a career criminal.
Modia was shot several times and died at the warehouse.
BSO said detectives have obtained a warrant for Williams' arrest on a first-degree murder charge.
Williams has been arrested in the past on charges of identity theft and fraud. Police said he may still be in South Florida, but he might be using an alias.
BSO said investigators believe Williams left a stolen white Toyota Tundra at the scene of the shooting. The license plate on the vehicle was registered to a northern Florida man whose identity had been stolen, and the car itself was registered to another man in Winter Garden, police said.
Modia's Mercedes was found Dec. 23 in Miami Gardens.
Anyone with information is asked to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477).
